Hamburg: Bucerius Kunst Forum: Myth of Spain-Ignacio Zuloaga

3. Hamburg: Bucerius Kunst Forum: Myth of Spain-Ignacio Zuloaga

Located in the heart of Hamburg next to the city hall, the Bucerius Kunst Forum organises four exhibitions each year, presenting world-class works of art from antiquity to the present day. It is a place to exchange ideas and encounter a broad range of visual arts. Discover the soul of Spain through the eyes of Ignacio Zuloaga, an artist who left an indelible mark on the image of Spain around 1900. His vivid paintings bring to life the vibrant world of toreros and flamenco dancers, as well as the humble existence of the rural folk. Zuloaga's portrayals of ascetics, penitents in vast, sun-scorched landscapes, beggars, and fortune tellers echo the artistic heritage of masters like El Greco and Diego Velázquez. In a time of rapid industrialization and Spain's shift towards European modernism, Zuloaga aimed to capture and preserve the essence of the "Spanish soul". His work grapples with the timeless question of Spain's identity: Should it cling to tradition or embrace modernity? Should it look inward or open up to Europe? These questions remain relevant today, making Zuloaga's work as poignant as ever. This exhibition, a collaboration between the Kunsthalle München and the Bucerius Kunst Forum, shines a spotlight on this influential Spanish artist. It features around 80 of his works, offering a comprehensive exploration of his artistic journey. Don't miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in Zuloaga's Spain.

The communication with get your Guido was not very understandable and there was no fixed contact person. The implementation for the first day to start was a complete disaster, supposedly there was a meeting point, but there wasn't one, according to get your Guido there wasn't one. And yet there was a point yesterday where we had to go. We kindly found out about this from a driver of another hop on hop off bus line. He then took us with him free of charge until then. The statement that we can use the hop on hop off bus on both days of our pass was also not true. So everything can only be used for one day and we weren't told that. We paid €189.50 and were hoping for more information and help. Otherwise the pass is very good for a first impression.

Seen a lot, what a cosmopolitan city........... a bit of a shame about the weather. Had a lot of rain, cold and wind. In addition, we were in Berlin 6 years ago, which we thought was a nicer city........... But we thought so.

Cool offers, you can't do everything in three days. Unfortunately, finding the responsible provider is sometimes cumbersome, but the price-performance ratio is great.

Everything worked out wonderfully 🤗 If you plan everything well in time, you can save a lot - I can definitely recommend it

It was super nice and just completely relaxed and easy with the City Oass
