Planning Your Brooklyn Visit

Don't forget to tip!

If this is your first visit to the United States, you might not be familiar with the very strict tipping policy. Though not legally required, tipping is nevertheless expected virtually everywhere. The rate depends on the service provided, but a good rule of thumb is 15-20% for most services and $1-2 for every drink ordered at a bar.

Take advantage of the subway

It can often be difficult to get a taxi to drive to or from the more remote parts of Brooklyn, especially after dark. It's therefore a good idea to acquaint yourself with New York City's subway system. Though the size of the network can be daunting, it's actually very easy to navigate and trains run 24 hours a day—it's also one of the cheapest ways to get around!

Brooklyn pizza

While the opportunities to grab an authentic slice of New York pizza are hardly rare, few restaurants can compete with Grimaldi's. Located under the Brooklyn Bridge, this pizzeria fully deserves its stellar reputation.

What People Are Saying About Brooklyn

So glad we didn't miss this, very enjoyable!

This was really a lot of fun. To see the NY skyline at night and to cruise right up to Lady Liberty was such a treat! We love Christmas, and not only is the city magical at this time of year, but this harbor Christmas cruise was the icing on top of the NY experience cake! I would definitely do this again.
