Discover a paradise island in the Coral Sea on a 1-day adventure tour to Moreton Island. Sand board down the island's biggest dunes, snorkel among the shipwrecks and coral of Tangalooma Wrecks, enjoy a picnic and cold drinks at the beach and more.
What to Expect
Depart Brisbane and travel to Moreton Island National Park to discover an environmentally sensitive destination that forms part of the world's largest sand structure. Join a skilled eco-guide for a fully-guided 4WD off-road adventure.
First, cruise the Brisbane River aboard a 3-level catamaran. Pass Moreton Bay Islands and Moreton Bay Marine Park. Take advantage of the boat's on-board bakery, shops and bar as you keep a look out for dolphins, turtles and schools of fish in the sea. Upon arrival at Moreton Island, admire the sandy beaches before you travel south by 4WD vehicle, driving the forest sand tracks to the desert sand hills. Benefit from full instructions and the provision of sand boarding gear to travel full speed down the island's biggest sand hills!
Then, take a walk on the beach, and experience the thrill of being at one with nature at Tangalooma Island Resort. Relax in the sun, go for a swim or visit the Tangalooma Marine Education and Conservation Centre to get an up-close and personal look into the world of Moreton Bay. Enjoy a picnic with cold drinks at Tangalooma Beach overlooking the Tangalooma shipwrecks, Glasshouse Mountains and Moreton Bay Marine Park.
Enjoy some free time to relax after lunch before taking a guided snorkeling tour of the Tangalooma Wrecks. Collect your snorkeling gear (fins, mask and snorkel) to swim among coral, fish, turtles and the rusting hulls of old shipwrecks. Look for the many species of fish and other marine wildlife by kayak.
Depart on the afternoon ferry, and cruise in luxury across the bay and into the mouth of the Brisbane River, where a bus will be waiting to take you back to Brisbane.
