The journey begins with a pick up on a Land Rover 4x4 at your accommodation (porto downtown), you will join like minded people in a small group for the day. We offer you the gems of the National Park, the hidden secrets that the locals are kindly sharing with us! Surrounded by gorgeous mountain landscapes you will make short and accessible walks to reach a crystal clear lagoon and waterfall taken straight from fantasy books. Once there you will be able to ground yourself! Appreciate the magic scenery, wild swimming and the purest nature. Throughout our day, we might feel like travelling back to ancient times. We step in one of the last communitary villages in the Portuguese northeast. Where you will get to know a real interesting way of living, based on traditions and focus on heritage and cultural preservation. Food is a great way to preserve culture. Traditional meal in a local and welcoming restaurant with fair, flavoured, deliciou food and wine included! "Changing the world at an arm's distance!" Giving back to nature and the community by an environmental care project , it's our way to promote active and participative tourism. Spend the day walking through Geres National Park, just an hour and a half from Porto. Immerse yourself into the heart of the park, explore the grounds, and enjoy a coffee. Hike for 10 km to the 7 natural pools, spend some time admiring the natural beauty, and head back to the starting point. THE HIKE:Embark on a 10 km (6.2 miles) hike which takes you to 7 magnificent natural pools situated in the heart of the park. The hike will be divided into 2 stages, 5 km (3.1 miles) from the starting point to the pools, where you'll stay for around 1.5/2 hours to dive in the amazing natural pools. Depending on people's willingness the group can stay a bit longer. Then, hike 5 km (3.1 miles) back to the starting point. The path is on uneven terrain but without steep slopes. HIKE DIFFICULTY:Difficult: for people who are not used to walking. Medium: For people who are used to hiking for 10 km in the countryside. Easy: For people who are used to hiking for more than 10 km on uneven terrain with steep slopes. LUNCH:For lunch, you need to prepare your own food as there's nothing around where you can eat. Please bring lots of water as it might be very hot. GROUP SIZE:From 8 to 15/pax maximum. After the hike, you'll have the chance to stop in a local tavern for a refreshing drink and relax a bit before making your way back to Porto city. Arrival in Porto will be around 6:30 PM.

The tour starts with a visit to the birthplace of the Portuguese nation – the city of Guimarães. This was the first city of Portugal chosen by the first king, Afonso Henriques. Known as the cradle of Portugal, Guimarães has preserved a medieval atmosphere at its core and is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your first stop takes place in the northern part of the city with a visit to the imposing 10th century castle. Afterward the historical Santa Maria Road leads you to the charming square in the heart of the old town, Largo da Oliveira. After a relaxing lunch break in Guimarães that will certainly allow you to enjoy the pleasures of the cuisine of the north of Portugal, it will be time to continue towards Braga, the oldest religious capital of Portugal. Known to the Romans as Bracara Augusta, for centuries Braga has been and archiepiscopal seat and pilgrimage site. Your first stop is Sé, the 12th century cathedral built by Henri de Bourgogne and Dona Teresa. Then you will head to Bom Jesus Sanctuary, a hilltop pilgrimage site. The 581 steps that the pilgrims climb up to the top of Bom Jesus are one of the most glorious stairways in Portugal. After a visit to these landmarks of faith in the country you head back to Porto.

Have time for a calm walk on foot through the medieval city before entering in the Guimarães Castle where the kingdom of Portugal was born.  Continue to the Palace of the Dukes to be dazzled by the luxuries of royalty from other times. A whole history of Portugal will be told by your local guides along the way. Return to your accommodation in Porto at the end of your tour.

The magnificent landscape will be your background for the morning, while you can be active by paddling and swimming around the lake. Take a pit stop on a small sandy beach, to swim, relax and try stand up paddle. Savour a traditional meal in a local and welcoming restaurant with fair, delicious food and wine included! After lunch take the opportunity to appreciate the stunning views while driving to the next adventure. This is the moment where you emerge into the wilderness and beauty of the National Park. Easy/moderate level walk through to a magical path will take you to a stunningshing waterfall, you'll be able to ground yourself, swim and enjoy the magic! Throughout the day, you will learn about the cultural and traditional aspects of the villages in the Park.
