Overall rating
You'll enjoy this trip if you're prepared for a lot of time spent driving and very long day (we left at 7am and returned around 11pm). A lot of time is spent on the road during this tour, but if you're happy looking out the window and enjoying the views you'll enjoy it. Lunch was very late on this trip (around 5pm). 2 stops were made to buy food prior to this so you will have an opportunity to buy something but make sure you do! Our bus did break down on route which added around 1 hour to our trip. This was no-ones fault and couldn't be controlled. The guide (Omar) was lovely and always had us smiling throughout the trip. I enjoyed this trip and would recommend it. The forest is beautiful, Vardzia is very interesting, the drive is beautiful, especially around borjomi, views at khertvisi were lovely, and we arrived in Rabat at dark but it was nice to see the fortress lit up. Just be prepared for a long day and late lunch!
Overall the trip is nice, although too much time was spent in Bojromi which did not have anything in particular (or anything interesting wasn't shown to us). Vardzia was very interesting and picturesque, lunch was tasty. Rabati castle was very pretty. The only minus was the guide who seemed to be forced to be on this trip, didn't even introduce himself and was very fed up and not engaging, especially in the morning.
One of the best trip that we had. Timur made it more extra special as he was able to explain the places we’ve been and even made our trip back to tbilisi worth it.
Who knew visiting historical sites could be so fun?! Our guide Timur knows his history, and he knows how to party! Woohoo!!! Funnest tour ever!!!
