What People Are Saying About Borghese Gallery
It was very nice! Very comfortable to get the tickets to the reserved time! Will always do!
Visitors who have made a reservation in advance are not told that they also have to line up. Visitors are only told that no bags are allowed when they have yet received there tickets, so they have to line up a second time. all these enerving problems of bad or no communication could be solved if there was a written text( in several languages) at the entrance and not only in a folder that you gett after all these misery !
Excellent museum and a truly unique experience. The only negative was the long line to retrieve belongings at the end.
Our guide was careful to pick key pieces of art work and sculpture explaining the history of the piece and how it came to be in the Villa Borghese as well as the artist our sculptor's intent, allusions to sources of their inspiration and detail of craftsmanship. Above all she had a passion for her subject, was local to Rome and had a clear understanding of the power of telling the story of the pieces. At no point patronising - always aware of her audience.
Info from Gyg said to arrive at 10.45 with dire consequences for being late. Looked around for 15 minutes after busting a gut to be at gallery on time - no guide!!! In frustration found him at precisely 11 with a charming " but the tour starts at 11 must be the agency". We were not the only ones so frustrated as others in the group confided Poor start but the tour was excellent from a very well informed and knowledgeable guide. The Borghese gallery has so many amazing highlights that it is impossible to take it all in over the 2 hours allocated Five stars for the guide but the agency can improve its game
