Overview
Make the most out of your time in half a day and join the Medellín City Tour. Discover the most beautiful and relevant places of the capital city of Antioquia while you learn about Colombia's culture and history.
What to Expect
The tour starts in Pueblito Paisa, a replica of a traditional small Antioquian town, where you'll admire the typical large whitewashed houses decorated with beautifully painted doors, as well as a traditional church and town hall. You'll also enjoy an incredible view over Medellín from Natibura Hill. On the way to the city center, you'll walk through tree-lined avenues of a beautiful neighborhood called Laureles. The area offers everything you can dream of if you´re looking for a good restaurant or food court. If you like, you can stay for a short while and try a typical Colombian dish (own expense).

The next stop will be at Plaza Botero, right in the center of Medellín, where you'll discover the original style of Fernando Botero, Colombia´s famous artist. As you look at the sculptures with their disproportionate body parts and unusual inflation, you'll learn about Botero’s sense of humor laced with irony and also criticism. Afterwards, you can admire the world’s largest collection of his paintings in the adjacent Museum of Antioquia, and see  pre-Hispanic, Colonial and contemporary art and much more.

Walking the short distance to Berrío Square you'll hear a bit more about the surrounding buildings and the city’s transport options. The square is considered to be the heart of the city, and was built way back in 1680. Located in the middle of the square, you can see a statue of Pedro Justo Berrío, once governor of Antioquia, and an important political figure for Medellín and Colombia. The tour ends in Medellín’s affluent and most popular neighborhood, El Poblado at Parque Lleras, where you'll see why the city is also called the City of Eternal Spring. Vivid streets rimmed by trees and  sparkling lights by night will entice you to linger around a bit longer. Tourists and locals love to enjoy the nightlife in El Poblado, so make sure you don’t miss out on this experience.

Finally, you can return to your hotel or stay in the area and check out one of the excellent restaurants the guide can recommend you.
