What to Expect
Explore the charming seaside resort of Bodrum, and uncover ancient Greek, Roman, and Turkish influences that stretch back through the centuries.

Start by exploring the ruins of the city of Halicarnassus, home to the Mausoleum of Maussollos, one of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World. Part of the Persian Empire until captured by Alexander the Great, the vast tomb built for the Carlan King Mausolus was made of white marble.

Continue to the Underwater Archaeology Museum in the Castle of St. Peter. Built from the ransacked marble and stones of Halicarnassus by the Knights Hospitaller of Rhodes, the setting for this fascinating museum offers splendid views and multimedia displays.

Carry on your tour of Homer’s "Land of Eternal Blue" with a walk around the bustling yet laid-back town, and see the remains of the Myndos Gate, now restored, built by King Mausolus in the 4th century BC. Another highlight is the restored Halicarnassus Theatre, with hillside seating for 13,000 spectators.

Lunch will be at Gumusluk, a picturesque village built over the remains of Myndos. Take the scenic coastal road to savor the flavors of the eastern Mediterranean’ seafood treats.
