What to Expect
This tour is about the Weimar Republic and the cabarets of Schöneberg that flourished until 1933. Your guide will take you the neighborhood’s cafés, shops, and various buildings that played a part in local life during the period of 1919-1933.
You’ll start out at the Rote Insel district and finish at Potsdamer Strasse. Your guide will also give you some tips on places to go and things to do later in the evening.
On the tour you’ll visit the following locations:
• Rote Insel
• Marlene Dietrich house
• Alfred Lion house
• The luxurious mansions of the Weimar era
• August Bebel house
Afterwards you’ll visit some vintage second hand shops and cafés in Schöneberg. You’ll also stop at Le Cabaret and the Clara Waldoff house and hear about the history of cabarets in Schöneberg. Stop at the El Dorado cabaret and the Christopher Isherwood house as well.
