Take a guided walk through Cold War-era Berlin, see the main sites from that period of 20th-century history, and learn about Berlin Wall. Hear about the history of this once divided city, and see the largest remaining part of the Wall in central Berlin.
What to Expect
Your guide will meet you at your Berlin hotel or other accommodation and take you and your group along the line where the Berlin Wall once stood in the center of Berlin.
See bridges no longer in use, the ghost stations of Berlin’s subway, an unofficial memorial for victims of the Berlin Wall, and more on this private tour for a group of up to 15 people.
Visit the new government district, crossing the former border between East and West Berlin. Explore the neighborhood around the famous Checkpoint Charlie, and also visit the Stasi (secret police) archives, on an amazing return to the past.
In the center of Berlin you’ll see and touch the largest existing part of the former Berlin Wall. You’ll come across another piece of Wall on Bernauer Strasse, with a tower on the top of a museum.
Visit the East Side Gallery, where the neighborhoods of Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain are joined, after being separated by the Wall from 1961 to 1990. Finish the tour at the Oberbaumbrücke, a bridge that offers panoramic views and a lot of history as well.
