What to Expect
Discover some of the new architecture of Beijing on a half-day sightseeing tour, with transportation by private car. Available as either a morning or afternoon option, the tour starts with a hotel pick-up at either 09:00 or 14:00.

Your first stop will be the National Center for the Performing Arts, colloquially known as “The Giant Egg.” Completed in July 2007, the city’s opera house and performance center is a dramatic dome of titanium and glass, completely surrounded by an artificial lake. Just west of Tiananmen Square, the building’s futuristic façade is home to a 2,000-seat Music Hall, a 1,000-seat Theater Hall, and an Opera Hall of almost 2,500 seats.

Continue to the Bird's Nest (National Stadium) and Water Cube (National Aquatics Center) in Olympic Green. The buildings were the centerpiece attractions of the Summer Olympics. Admire the intricate web of steel beams of the Bird’s Nest, inspired by Chinese ceramics, and continue to the Water Cube, symbolically designed to resemble a geometric pattern of soap bubbles.

En route back to your hotel, stop at the radical new CCTV Headquarters (China Central Television) on Third Belt Road in the Central Business District for a quick photo shoot of the first of a planned 300 new buidlings in Beijing’s CBD.
