What to Expect
This one-day tour of Beijing takes you on a discovery of the main landmarks of Imperial China. In-between exploring the historical sights you can enjoy the scenic bus ride through Beijing as well as an unbeatable shopping experience at the Pearl Market.
The tour starts at Tiananmen Square which is one of the world's biggest city center squares, and regarded as the symbol of New China. From there it is on to The Forbidden City, a former imperial palace originally commissioned by Emperor Yong Le in the Ming Dynasty.
The Forbidden City had been the seat of power for centuries and had seen countless battles and reconstruction, and the architecture seen today dates back to the 1700s. The Forbidden City now houses the Palace Museum, whose collections of art are available for you to see.
After a stop for lunch, the tour continues on to the Temple of Heaven. The Temple of Heaven is China's largest temple and altar complex, an extraordinary example of religious architecture dating back to the Ming and Qing dynasties.
