Discover the highlights of Beijing on this small-group tour with transfers between key sites including the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven and the Summer Palace.
What to Expect
After a 07:30 collection, you will be driven first to the Forbidden City, to see the largest imperial palace in China. Built during the Ming and Qing dynasties, it boasts a history of around 600 years. This is one of the largest ancient architectural complexes in the world.
Next, see the Temple of Heaven, where the ancient emperors used to pray for blessings upon the whole nation. A perfect harmony between the architectural environment and nature can be felt here; you might easily imagine the vivid spectacle of a great sacrifice to the heavens for a good harvest. The magnificent Hall of Prayer of Good Harvest is one of the most important and impressive buildings in China.
Finally head to the Summer Palace, the largest and best-preserved royal garden in China, over 800 years old. The site includes more than 100 pavilions, mansions, towers, halls, temples, and bridges, and an enormous clear lake. As well as transfers between the sites, your day will also include a traditional Chinese lunch.
