What People Are Saying About Basilica di San Clemente al Laterano
Well organised tour, back to the early days of christiannitty. Amazing stories, told by our passioned guide Karina, in a modern and fun way. She really made historie come to life.
Our tour guide, Karina, was incredible. So much knowledge! The tour was informative, but not overwhelming. I would highly suggest doing this tour! It's not as talked about as other tours, but it is so interesting and well worth the time and money. Make sure to book in advance though (if booking through GetYourGuidr) otherwise they might not actually have seats even though you are able to still buy them online.
We went on the tour in the afternoon and had Dimitri as our guide. He was really informative and had lots of little facts for us. The tour starts in catacombs outside the city walls and the guides explain the history of the catacombs and crypts in addition to telling us about the local area. The catacombs are fantastic and there is a real sense of spirituality to them. The pagan burial area is beautiful. The crypts are really interesting and the perspective given by our guide really developed the experience. Be aware- there was a person in our group who could not complete the trip due to having a service dog. The company were apologetic but it is a policy of churches that dogs are not allowed. The lady had called ahead and had been told that the dog would be allowed but the church had the final say. If you rely on a service dog it may be necessary to make other arrangements. Additionally they are strict on the 'no photo' rule.also at the crypt you can buy a €1 kimono to cover up.
Claudia was an exceptional guide with so much knowledge to impart. A great activity to learn about early Rome
An amazing an informative tour. I will recommend this to all my friends who travel to Rome.
