Visit Colonia Güell, a village that has become a gigantic modernist complex since Antoni Gaudí created the main building here, Cripta Güell, as a model for Barcelona's Sagrada Familia Cathedral. Enjoy delicious Catalonian dishes at a traditional lunch.
What to Expect
In a time when workers experienced poor living conditions, Catalan businessman Eusebi Güell created a modernist village where the working class could have everything they needed. In fact, what Güell really wanted was to prevent workers from encountering the revolutionary ideas that were spreading in Barcelona.
On this 5-hour tour from Barcelona you’ll visit Colonia Güell, a village that has become a huge modernist-style complex. You’ll discover the site’s most important buildings and facilities, particularly Cripta Güell, where the great Antonio Gaudí tested most of the technical solutions he put into practice at his Sagrada Familia Cathedral in Barcelona.
You’ll also see the Colonia Güell Museum, Centro San Luís, and the school. Then move onto the teacher’s home, Ca l’Espinal, and doctor’s home, Colonia Güell Square, Ca l’Ordal, and Güell Crypt.
