Arriving before it started to get crowded, I was able to walk slowly through the monastery. Those who want to enjoy trekking can also cancel the return bus and use the mountain railway to return. It's a landscape that you won't get tired of for hours, and there are museums, so it might be a good idea to start a full-day tour from the beginning.

If there is a trip that should be take while in Barcelona, then this is it. Monteserrat is one of the places you should see at least once in your lifetime. The trip was interesting, the guide fun and attentive, and the hike to St. Michael's cross (on guide's recommendation) clears your thoughts and makes you find your inner peace, if you lost it or never found it before.

Early morning is great-no crowds. Tour portion is great-get enough information without too much detail. Most information is given on the bus so have more time to explore on your own. Had time to do the steep funicular to the top(or could have checked out shops or quick check of museum)
