Full description
You’ll be picked up by private transport to begin this 10-hour personalized tour through the idyllic landscapes of Costa Brava. Experience the sites important in the life of Salvador Dalí, one of the world’s most important Surrealist painters. Head first to Figueres, a small town near the border with France and one of the points that make up the so-called Dalí Triangle. Salvador Dalí was born in Figueres, and spent his childhood here. Get to know the streets and places that marked his early years as well as some of the places he frequented as an adult. Next, you’ll visit the Dali Museum, called the largest surrealistic object in the world. Designed by the artist himself on the ruins of an old municipal theater, the Museum takes you into the painter's mind via a collection of the strangest artifacts you can imagine. Follow the footsteps of the artist to Cadaqués, one of hidden gems of the Costa Brava. The easternmost of the villages on the Iberian peninsula features spectacular views of white houses, the sea, and the capricious forms of the mountainous terrain. Walk around the town center, relax at the waterfront, and enjoy the cuisine of a traditional fishing village. Just a mile from Cadaqués is Portlligat, the last stop on your itinerary. In 1930, Dalí made his home in this tiny, charming cove, building his house from a group of fishermen's huts. It has since been converted into the House Museum as it is the site where the painter created his most important works. Take an intimate tour through the rooms where he lived with his beloved wife and muse, Gala.

First, the hotel/lodging location pick up and drop off was fantastic. Our guide Oriol was excellent. His knowledge on Dali and on details was impressive. There was no question he could not answer. His knowledge about the region and on Spain was all extremely valuable. He is also a very likable guy to spend the day with. The group is maximum at 8 guests and there is no cancellation regardless of how many have signed up. That is also excellent. His recommendation for things to do while at the sites and on our own have all been spot on. I needed to use an ATM and Oriol provided assistance to find on en route and provided help to ensure that is was done. Greatly appreciated. I would recommend him highly. Many little touches of high service and care that are too numerous to mention. I would recommend to to anyone interested in a Dali day with an expert. It was great to experience the Dali Theatre museum, and to see his home along the shore.

This was the first time I had ever taken a day-long guided tour. My friend and I agreed it was a great way to see the Dalí museums. Setting up the tour was convenient. They were accommodating, and came to our hotel to pick us up/ drop us off... which was much appreciated. On the drive we not only were given some of Dali’s history, but the history of the area. Andre, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable about Dali’s life and works. At the first 2 museums, he explained a few key works in detail and gave us time to roam around and experience the museums for ourselves. Understanding Dali’s symbolism allowed us to see Dali’s visions in a new way. Viewing the landscapes on the way to Dali’s house museum, the third stop, is alone worth the trip. The winding road along the mountainous coast and tucked away towns are breathtaking. There are additional fees for the tickets so make sure to bring extra cash to settle up at the end of the trip. What a fun day!!!

very relaxed and informative. Our guide took us through the locations , explaining facts and ideas about Dali and then gave us time to explore on our own. We never felt rushed. He was very personable, polite and even gave some recommendations as to what to see on our next stop in Malta.
