What to Expect
You’ll be picked up at your accommodation or other preferred location and head out on a full-day private tour to discover the different faces of Barcelona's architectural legacy and its culture.

Start out in Plaça Catalunya, the center of Barcelona, which connects to Passeig de Gracia, the city’s street that boasts the most distinctive Catalan architecture. Admire the striking facades of private Modernist buildings, including La Pedrera by Antoni Gaudí. In addition, in the so-called Apple of Discord, you’ll find other fine examples of Modernist houses, including Gaudí’s Casa Batlló, Casa Lleó-Morera, and Casa Ametller.

Next you’ll visit the historic Gràcia district and the amazing Park Güell, which is situated on a hill with spectacular views of Barcelona. in these gardens Gaudí mixed his original sense of architecture with the forms of nature: the result is a place of true fantasy.

Head to the Eixample neighborhood, which was designed as an extension of the city as it grew. You’ll drive along the original streets on the way to see Gaudí’s masterpiece, La Sagrada Familia.

Take a guided visit of the cathedral and your guide will help you understand the different parts of the structure and its symbolism. Marvel at the bizarre shapes of its columns, roofs, and walls, that stem from the organic sense of Gaudí’s architecture.

Continue on towards the Mediterranean, passing by the Plaza de Toros monument and the contemporary Agbar Tower, the newest reference point in the Barcelona skyline. At Bogatell Beach you’ll have reached the waterfront. See Port Vell (Old Port), the Gothic Drassanes, and the Columbus Monument, near the iconic La Rambla, ending at the brand new World Trade Center.

Next you’ll climb the Montjuic Mountain to the Mirador de l'Alcalde, a terrace from where you can enjoy the most spectacular panoramic views over Barcelona’s skyline. On the same mountain there are facilities and structures from the ‘92 Olympics and others designed for the International Exhibition of 1929, including Plaça Espanya, influenced by St. Peter's Square in the Vatican.

Head down to the center of Old Town, finishing the day with a relaxed walking tour through the charming corners of the Gothic Quarter, taking in traces of the Roman and medieval eras. Stop at Cathedral Avenue to admire the magnificent Gothic façade of the temple, and then travel back in time to the origins of Barcelona at Plaça Sant Jaume, where the City Hall is located.
