What You'll Do
  • See elephants in their natural habitat at the Elephant Haven Sai Yok Kanchanaburi Project
  • Travel down the River Kwai by bamboo raft
  • Ride the notorious Death Railway
Overview
See elephants at peace in their natural habitat at the Sai Yok Elephant Camp, and then raft down the River Kwai on a sightseeing tour from Bangkok. Ride the infamous "Death Railway" to see the stunning scenery from a unique perspective.
What to Expect
Depart Bangkok and journey to the Sai Yok Elephant Camp, now known as the "Elephant Haven Sai Yok Kanchanaburi Project," where the elephants have been let off their chains to roam free in the natural habitat.

Follow them into the lush forest landscape to see the elephants taking a river bath and rolling in the mud pit. All of the elephants are former working animals that are now supported and looked after so that they can spend the rest of their lives in peace.

Next, float down the River Kwai on a bamboo raft and admire the beautiful scenery along the way. Stop for lunch at the local "Wat Po" restaurant. Then, ride the notorious Death Railway (also known as the "Burma Railway") built by prisoners of war in 1943 to support Japan's forces in the Burma campaign of World War II.
