Three days of cycling and sightseeing in the beautiful and dramatic landscapes of Kanchanaburi, near Thailand's border with Burma. This tour includes visits to historic World War II sites such as the bridge over the River Kwai and Hellfire Pass.
What to Expect
Kanchanaburi has one of Thailand's most dramatic landscapes. This three day and two night tour takes us to the area made famous in the classic war film, The Bridge Over the River Kwai, with its lush forest surroundings.
We visit historical sights including the bridge and war museum, then take a thrilling ride on the infamous Death Railway. After lunch we visit caves, ride through teak plantations and villages, and see an ancient Khmer temple site, spending the night at a riverside hotel.
The next day we cycle at a leisurely pace along red laterite trails, through rolling farmland and jungle, enjoying the best of the countryside, with the Burmese border mountains often in view. Tonight we will stay at another riverside hotel, relaxing by the pool or enjoying a massage.
On the last day we will ride mainly downhill, partly through primary jungle and alongside a meandering stream. The climax is Hellfire Pass, the deep railway cutting made by prisoners of war at huge human cost. From here we will head back to your hotel in Bangkok.
