  • Learn family recipes passed down through generations from a local cook
  • Enjoy a traditional Thai meal that you helped prepare
  • Get a glimpse into local Thai cuisine and culture
Enjoy a private meal and cooking demonstration in a local Bangkok home. Experience authentic Indian life and cuisine with your host Tang as you cook together and dine on family recipes you won't find in restaurants.
What to Expect
Meet your host Tang at a centrally located BTS station for your private cooking experience. Walk to her spacious family home located in Krung Thonburi, deep within a maze of narrow lanes that are typical in this part of the city.

Tang and her family will warmly welcome you into their home for your cooking lesson and an authentic Thai meal (either lunch or dinner). Tang’s love of cooking began at 7 years old when her grandmother needed a hand to help prepare the family’s daily meals. In the kitchen you will learn to chop, pound and grind your way to a traditional Thai meal. Tang will teach you to prepare two to three dishes during your hands-on lesson.

Her specialties include the classic Isaan dish, larb (minced chicken or pork flavored with lime juice, dill, coriander, mint, chili, and other fresh herbs picked in her garden), tom ka gai (a delicious chicken soup simmered in coconut milk with mushrooms, galangal and lemongrass), kai giaw gung (Thai-style egg omelet with fresh shrimp), pad Thai (perhaps Thailand's most famous dish of stir fried rice noodles with fresh prawns in sweet-sour tamarind sauce), gai pad med ma muuang (stir fried chicken with cashew nuts), panaeng gai (chicken simmered in panaeng curry sauce), and gai thood ta khrai (fried chicken wings with fragrant fried lemongrass). Enjoy your delicious meal with your hosts. Leave with new recipes, an appreciation of Thai culture, and a true glimpse into a local’s life.
