Cork: Fastnet Rock Lighthouse and Cape Clear Island Tour

2. Cork: Fastnet Rock Lighthouse and Cape Clear Island Tour

Take the ferry from Baltimore or Schull and cross the beautiful waters of Roaring Water Bay. Arriving at the north harbor on Cape Clear Island, spend some free time exploring this Gaeltacht Island, learning about the island’s culture, and the island life, including old traditions and traditional farming. Discover the island’s ancient standing stones, Napoleonic Tower, Dún an Óir Castle, 12th-century church and visit the memorial on the Island to the 1979 Fastnet Yacht Race Disaster. Hear about the “Teardrop” of Ireland, the last glimpse of the country that the immigrant ships saw before they headed over the horizon to the New World - America. Absolutely amazing! Loads of emotions and excitement! Didn't get to see any whales, unfortunately, but loads of dolphins and blue fin tuna. The captain was brilliant at spotting and following the wildlife, so we got to enjoy these beautiful creatures in their natural habitst to the fullest. Thank you so much.

Outstanding day. Extremely enjoyable. Jerry was very professional, friendly and informative. Could not ask for more from him to make our day such a great experience. Will do it again very soon. Myself, my partner and my friends all had an outstanding day.

A great day out in West Cork! Our guide explained how to spot signs of dolphins or whales and we were able to work together to spot a beautiful family of dolphins who stuck around for half an hour with us! Thanks for the experience!

Jerry was a great skipper and explained everything to us very well! We saw a lot of sea creatures: minke whales, lots of dolphins, tuna and finally a fin whale and a seal. Simply fantastic and recommended!
