Head out on a day tour from Bali, traveling further east to see the amazing architecture of 19th-century Karangasem Palace, which combines Balinese, Chinese, and European designs. Then visit the beautiful gardens of Taman Sukasada and Tirta Gangga.
What to Expect
Take a trip east as you spend a full-day learning about and exposing yourself to the Royal Karangasem Heritage.
Drive eastward in the morning toward the Karangasem region to visit Puri Agung Karangasemor, the Karangasem Palace that was built in 19th century by Anak Agung Gede Jelantik, the first king of Karangasem Kingdom. The palace has unique architecture, which is the combination of Balinese, Chinese, and European influence. This building was constructed when the King of Karangasem started opening relationships with the Dutch government.
Next, leave the royal palace and go further to the east to visit the beautiful garden of Taman Sukasada. It features the heritage building set in the middle of big fish pond. It was designed in the European style and it reflects all decorations, form, and architectures. It was previously used by the Karangasem's king to welcome important guests and also for a day of relaxation. Here you might also see the beautiful panorama of the big fish pond and the Agung Mountain on the north side.
Then you will have the opportunity to visit the Sebetan village which is well-known for the snake skin fruits and its farming village. A stroll around the village roads offers breathtakingly beautiful vistas of mountains, palm trees, ant-like villages, and in the distance, the blue ocean. The last stop is made at Tirta Gangga, which is a beautiful water park with a huge water fountain and wide pond located at Abang Sub-district, Karangasem Regency, in the east part of Bali. Tirta Gangga Park was built in the year of 1948 by the Karangasem King of Anak Agung Agung Angluerah Ketut Karangasem.
