What to Expect
Follow the tracks of Vincent van Gogh in Provence on this 5-hour tour. You’ll begin in Arles, a city that fascinated the artist. Around the city you’ll see reproductions of his paintings at the places where he placed his easel. Stop at the Langlois Bridge, the subject of 4 van Gogh oil paintings, including his famous painting, The Bridge of Langlois.
Travel along small roads lined with olive groves to Les Baux-de-Provence, one of France’s most beautiful villages. The village is perched on a rocky spur, at an elevation of 247 meters. Admire its paved alleys and Renaissance houses. Take in the panorama of vineyards, olive groves, and the Camargue, as far as the sea, from the castle situated at the top of the village.
Visit the unique Carrières de Lumières, deep in a limestone quarry, where you can experience a multimedia show that is the ultimate visual and auditory immersion.
Your tour ends in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. Van Gogh stayed at the Saint-Paul de Mausole monastery here, an asylum where he painted some of his most important works.
