What people are saying about Attica

We had the most wonderful time exploring Meteora. Our guide -- who's name I can't remember -- was exceptionally knowledgeable about the monasteries and was a central reason we had such a great time. She was enthusiastic about our questions and had a deep passion for the region and its history. We took the train from Athens and took a bus transfer half way there due to damage from flooding on the railway. The communication from the company was explicitly detailed and everything ran smoothly transferring at the train station in Paleofarsalos. Something to note for those going to visit specific monasteries in Meteora. Most are open but the tour operators sometimes need to change the monasteries they bring us on tours of as they are often randomly closed for maintenance or religious observances. The tour operators don't know this information until the morning of the tours so bear this in mind if going to visit a specific monastery.

Amazing trip with our tour with Chris. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, answering all of our questions, giving us interesting stories and even became a photographer for us! The journey involved taking a train approx 2hr 45 - which was very comfortable - I would recommend bringing a neck pillow and having a little nap. This was followed by a 1.5hr bus journey - again this was easily located immediately outside of the train station to Kalambaka - the bus journey was comfortable and the views were nice. We met with Chris at Kalambaka Station - he was already waiting for us and the transportation was extremely comfortable and the journey was very smooth. We were able to leave our stuff in the car. Scenery was amazing - cannot recommend enough. Chris ensured we stayed on schedule and gave us timings to meet back at convenient locations. A great experience and honestly the journey truly was worth it completely!

Wonderful guide, warm and friendly and very knowledgeable. Ended up just being me and my friend on the tour so felt like having a private tour! Our guide knew all the best photo spots and best views to help us make the best of our trip, also recommended some delicious places to get food afterwards. Plenty of time was given at each monastery too. Really highly recommend this tour,

It was the most incredible day and the highlight of our entire trip. Our guide and driver were kind and accommodating to my son and me. Our guide was so knowledgeable. She was born in the area and had endless, fascinating information about the history, the art, the monasteries, even the rock formations and flowers. We were so grateful.

I think it was perfect because it was for one day and had a round trip from Athens
