What to Expect
This fabulous full-day tour explores some of the greatest treasures from ancient and classical Greece located on the Peloponnese peninsula. Departing from Athens by luxury air-conditioned coach, you will drive to Mycenae, legendary home of the Atreid dynasty that gave its name to civilization.

As you journey through Greek history, a knowledgeable guide will provide you with interesting facts about legendary characters, such as Agamemnon, Clytemnestra, and Helen of Troy.

Drive past the 11th-century Byzantine monastery of Daphni, and the mighty feat of 19th-century engineering that is the Corinth Canal. Cross the Isthmus of Corinth and Temple of Isthmia, dedicated to the god Poseidon. Continue past the Fortress of Acrocorinth, one of the most impressive acropolis in mainland Greece.

Upon arrival at Mycenae, you will visit the Tomb of King Agamemnon and the stunning Lion’s Gate on the cyclopean wall. After lunch, continue to the seaside resort of Nafplion, once the capital of Greece, and now a serene town with a beautiful small harbor.

Travel on to the Sanctuary of Asklepios, also known as the Theatre of Epidaurus. World famous for its acoustics and a popular venue for concerts to this day, the spectacular UNESCO-inscribed amphitheater dates back to the 4th century BC and can seat up to 15,000 spectators at maximum capacity.
