What to Expect
Discover Aswan High Dam on this full-day tour. This engineering miracle was built in 1960 to protect Egypt from the annual Nile floods. Next, visit the Unfinished Obelisk where you’ll be able to see the techniques that the ancient Egyptians used to cut obelisks from the desert rock thousands of years ago.
The Unfinished Obelisk was created for Queen Hatshepsut, one of the rulers of the 18th dynasty and the royal wife of King Tuthmosis II. It is nearly one third larger than any ancient Egyptian obelisk ever erected. The obelisk's creators began to carve it directly out of bedrock, but cracks appeared in the granite and the project was abandoned.
Finally you’ll proceed to the majestic Philae Temple which was built in honor of the goddess Isis, the chief deity of Philae Island. Don’t miss out on this unique tour, taking in Egypt’s fine engineering achievements as well as its ancient history!
