Asklipio

Embark on a safari in the south of Rhodes to discover the island's diverse nature, local culture, and driving experience. Visit small Greek villages, olive fields, and riverbeds. Smell mountain herbs, eat local foods, and swim at a secluded beach. Start your tour from the moment you are picked up from your hotel. Follow the East Coast, passing Lindos and Pefkos towards Kiotari. Pass through the small village of Asklipion, with its castle. Following the river, reach the village of Profilia, and stop for refreshments. Continue towards the highest mountain, Ataviros, and drive mountain roads with stunning views. Cross the wine region and come to the second highest mountain, Akramitis, where you stop for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a pleasant shaded drive through the forest, with views of the West Coast and plenty of small islands. Admire the panorama of Monolithos and swim at a secluded beach.

Starting from the village of Salakos, you go along an ancient mule track that leads to a garden that once belonged to De Vecchi (governor of the island during the Italian domination) who had a villa built right on the mountain of the prophet. Through a small path you continue towards the chapel of the Archangel Michael perched on large boulders and continue towards the two Tyrolean-style hotels and the third peak of the island (798 m): from here the view is breathtaking. Descending from the mountain you pass by the majestic villa and its chapel and then descend towards Salakos. The whole route is immersed in a dense forest of cypresses and Aleppo pines which offer shade and shelter from the sun on the hottest days.
