Full description

See some of Armenia's best attractions in just one day on this fully guided tour. Learn the history of famous pilgrimage sites, enjoy a local lunch, and sample Armenian wines on a winery tour.

The group will meet in central Yerevan at 10:00 AM. Travel south on an air-conditioned bus or van to the first stop of the day: Khor Virap Monastery. The most famous pilgrimage site in Armenia, this monastery is directly connected with the adoption of Christianity as a state religion. Hear stories of Saint Gregory the Illuminator while admiring views of the Biblical Mount Ararat.

The next stop is Noravank monastery. Built in the 13th-century, this monastery is a classic example of Armenian architecture at the time and was created in harmony with the rocks and caves that surround it. Explore the St. Karapet and St. Gregory the Illuminator churches and stop to admire the St. Astvatsatsin (Holy Mother of God) – the only 2-storied monastery in Armenia.

Break for lunch at a local restaurant surrounded by nature. Choose between 3 lunch options available for purchase. Finally, end the day sampling Areni wines at the Hin Areni wine factory. One of the best Armenian wines, this type is known for its specific flavor and delicate taste. Take a peek at the surrounding city, home to the St. Astvatsatsin church. After a full day of learning and exploring, you will return to Yerevan by bus.
