Off season we had a great experience with the gladiator school. We basically received a private lesson for our two boys for two hours and Piero (aka Marcus Aurelius) was super engaging, entertaining, fully bought in and ya four boys totally sucked in to the gladiator school. It definitely helped that we had done the amphitheater Flavius tour two days prior and that we had watched most of the Gladiator movie. Constructive criticism would be to provide more info directly to clients so that they know what to expect: off the beaten path, out of town, down an unmarked road, in the woods and MANY mosquitos. My daughter and I were eaten alive for two hours as we watched the boys train to be gladiators.
The tour was fantastic!!! I should be an absolute "must" to any Rome- stay! The route was well selected and the equipment new, in absolute good shape. Our guide was amazing. He showed us so many interesting things, and handled the tour with that much flexibility after due to vovid-19 the catacombs of S. Sebastian were closed, that we really missed nothing and didn't feel that something was skipped! And he had chosen such a nice, small bar for lunch break, we will always remember. A really really great event and experience!!!
I did the tour with my son (10 years) on a Sunday morning and we had a perfect last day in Rome. Our guide was very friendly and professionnal regarding the anecdotes of the history of the Via Appia. Some small parts are a bit more tricky to ride because of the car traffic. Overall I recommand the tour to everyone who can ride a bike.
The best tour to get out of the city and lern about the history of Rome, Via Appia and Aquaducts. The E-Bike ist extremly helpful. Wear sunscreen!!! It'll be hot and sunny. The staff is very nice and helpful. A active day out of the city with spectacular views and a nice history.
This was one of the high point of our vacation. My wife loved every minute. Our guide Stefano (A.K.A. Sebastiano) was amazing. Full of local knowledge and very helpful. The ebikes made the trip a lot easier than I thought it would be.
