What People Are Saying About Antalya

This was the best thing we did in all of Turkey.

We traveled to Istanbul, Cappadocia, and Antalya during our trip to Turkey in August 2013. Termessos was by far our favorite part of the entire trip. Archaeologists aren't sure exactly how old it is, but it goes back at least to Alexander the Great. Due to its location way up in the mountains, Alexander described it as an "eagle's nest" and decided to simply bypass it rather than risk a siege. It's the only city that Alexander did not capture in his conquest of Persia. Another cool feature of its location: tour buses can't reach it, so there are few other people up there. It really felt like we were uncovering the city for the first time. Our guide, Aykut Altinisik, was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We were so happy to have a guide. We saw other people wandering around without one, and while it would be cool either way, having Aykut there to point out the "hidden gems" made the experience all the better.
Private tour in Antalya: Termessos-Karain Cave Reviewed by John, 09/09/2013

Good overview of historical sites with knowledgeable guide.

Lots of sites but a bit rushed. Too many things to see with not enough time. The guide was very knowledgeable.
