Take a shortcut to the fantastic fjord and enjoy panoramic mountain views from the Romsdalsgondolen. Book a one-way ticket from the top or bottom, or a round-trip starting from either the top or bottom. Take in the vistas and opt to eat at the mountaintop restaurant or go on a hike. An electric cable car, Norway's first gondola built on principles of sustainability, takes you 1,679 meters from the fjord up to the mountain Nesaksla (700 meters above sea level), located right above the town of Åndalsnes. The journey up is approximately 10 minutes long. Enjoy a 360-degree view overlooking the famous Romsdalen mountains including the impressive Mt. Romsdalshorn, Mt. Vengetindene, the town center, lush valleys, and the emerald green river Rauma. In the Eggen Restaurant at the top, sit for a meal while admiring the stunning views. Explore the area along short, easy paths on the mountain top to the different viewpoints. Opt to hike back to the port along a steep path and stone steps, passing the Rampestreken viewpoint, or take the gondola back down for a quicker, but not less fascinating trip to town.

The tour starts with meeting the guide outside the fjord station of Romsdalsgondolen in the center of Åndalsnes. Take the gondola to the top of the Mount Nesaksla together. Romsdalsgondolen is Norway’s longest cable car of its kind, and has a view over famous sites such as Troll Wall, Trollstigen and the Romsdalen Fjord. When arriving on the top, the guide will lead the way towards Rampestreken. After passing Eggen Restaurant you will walk downhill approx. 15-20 minutes. Parts of the path consists of Sherpa stairs which makes it easier to climb the steep hills. At Rampestreken, challenge yourself by walking to the very end of the viewpoint and take in the views! The 20 meter free-hanging ramp will give you butterflies and unique photos from Romsdalen. Hike back up to the top of the mountain together with the guide. The tour will end when you have arrived back to Romsdalsgondolen fjord station and Eggen Restaurant. You can then choose to go down together with the guide, or have a drink, coffee or lunch before you go back down when you are ready.

Romsdalen Gondola and Eggen Restaurant A local yoga teacher meets you at the Romsdal gondola and together you take the 5-minute gondola ride to the top of Nesaksla and Eggen Restaurant. Here you get some time to look around and find peace before the yoga class starts. Our certified yoga teacher will take you to an hour of hatha, vinyasa or yin yoga, with a view of the finest mountains. Take care of your body and mind with yoga in very special surroundings. We always end with a good relaxation. No prior knowledge is required, the class is suitable for everyone. After the class, the kitchen has prepared a delicious healthy and nutritious smoothie (vegan). There are also opportunities to take a mountain hike and/or enjoy a meal at Eggen Restaurant. The gondola runs every full and half hour, so you can get back down whenever it suits you.
