This was a perfect day trip option, and would be wonderful for any solo travelers. The tour size was small (about 12 people) and it’s a quick can ride each way. Our local guide took us through the historic town and provided us with tons of great information. The pace was relaxed enough to take photos and look around, and you receive time after each stop to shop at the gift shop or look around the area more. I usually like to navigate on my own, but I thought this was great value for the money and was a stress free way to get out of town to see the country for a bit!

10 out of 10, strongly recommend

This tour was fantastic! The windmills are a must see, and they're so cool up close. You get to learn about clogs and see how they're made, which was actually really interesting, and of course you get to taste some cheese! You can climb up one of the windmills, which offers once in a lifetime views. Our guide, Esther, was so nice and extremely knowledgeable, we loved her! It's a small tour, only about 10 or so, so you really get to enjoy the experience.

Excellent day and well worth the money

We took a little risk with this booking as we booked in advance without knowing the area or the company but we are so happy we did. It was a great morning and David, our guide, was better than we could have even hoped. Dutch but speaking perfect English, better than mine a dare say haha, was welcoming and informative and very patient and compassionate with a couple of fussy moaning women in the group. Very professionally handled. The trip there was quick and easy and Zaanse Schans and the working windmill area was beautiful. The clog making was very interesting but the highlight for us was all the cheese!!! Unlimited tasters, that we took full advantage of and we had a very large bag full of numerous items including gifts for the family when we left. So happy we took the time to visit this lovely area, thank you!
