What You'll Do
  • Discover Waterland and Wetlands, the area just outside Amsterdam
  • Enter a completely new world by bike and whisper boat
  • Feel the wind in your hair with this charming bike tour
Discover the charming towns and typical Dutch countryside just outside Amsterdam. Explore this authentic Holland region in a Dutch way- by bike and by whisper boat. Only 15 minutes away from Amsterdam, you will enter a completely different world.
What to Expect
Let yourself be carried away by your guide. Feel Waterland and discover the nature, the people and the animals. Enjoy the newborn lambs, see how grebes nest. What is more unique than having a picnic in the beautiful nature reserve of the Ilperveld? In these original wetlands, you can spot many species of birds. See the cows and sheep and enjoy delicious Waterlands bread, milk and cheese

The program begins in Broek in Waterland, one of the most beautiful villages of North-Holland. If you ordered a (E-)bike, this will be ready for you. The bike tour also includes a tour with a whisper boat through the preserved parts of the original peatland.

This authentic bike tour takes you along bike ferries, small villages along dykes and over bridges. We stop on the way for tea and coffee, and lunch in the nature reserve of the Ilperveld, in the Wetlands of Amsterdam.

After your lunch and whisper boat tour in Ilperveld, you will continue your bike ride. Peddle along the Amsterdam Canal Dyke, cross the canal again by bike ferry and exlore the beautiful Waterland countryside. Pass charming little villages and take your time for beautiful photo moments. Have an enjoyable trip back to Broek in Waterland.

Broek in Waterland tells the story of the rich (usually Amsterdam) shareholders and persons who had earned their money on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange. The characteristic quayside buildings of well-maintained wooden houses with clean sidewalks and well-furnished gardens on postage stamp size lots are still there. The colorful folk costumes are gone but the church, tea tent and many beautiful wooden houses remained. Most homes are painted in pastel colors like grey, yellow and green, against white details for contrast. The ride ends in Broek in Waterland.
