Experience an incredible tour from Amman to Madaba, the "City of Mosaics." You will also visit Mt. Nebo, one of the most revered holy sites of Jordan. See the desert gorge of Wadi Al-Mujib and the Crusader castle built by King Baldwin of Jerusalem.
What to Expect
Discover the many holy sites around Amman on this full-day tour. After pick-up from your Amman hotel, you will ride to Mt. Nebo, the vantage point from which Moses gazed at the Promised Land before he died. You will also visit an ancient monastery and enjoy lookouts over the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, Jericho, and Jerusalem.
Your tour then proceeds to Madaba, where you will visit the ancient St. George's church. There will be time here to admire a famous Byzantine mosaic depicting a 6th century map of Palestine.
As your tour continues along a famous ancient caravan route, the King's Way, you will enjoy a short stop in Wadi Al-Mujib. At more than 400 meters (approx. 1200 feet) below sea level, this wide gorge is the lowest nature reserve in the world, and is filled with magnificent geological formations. Then, the tour heads to Kerak, one of the largest Crusader castles in the Middle East, built in 1134 by King Baldwin I of Jerusalem.
