Enjoy a 4-hour gastronomic tour in Alberobello with Mamma Lucia, who will show you the secret of Apulian culinary tradition. Admire the unique trulli houses as you walk around the town before shopping at the market and enjoying a cooking class with lunch.
What to Expect
In the morning you will meet the tour guide at the office, where you will begin the walking tour of Alberobello. This lovely picturesque town, considered the capital of trulli, was declared UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996.
The trulli are unique dry stone houses with cone-shaped roofs and their name comes from the Greek word for "cupola". This 4-hour tour of Alberobello includes an interior visit of an old trulli.
You will walk to the central area of Aia Piccola which has almost 400 trulli, many of them still inhabited. You will then continue on to Terrazzino Belvedere, where you will able to admire the 1,000 trulli of the Rione Monti, the main tourist area.
After the walk, Mamma Lucia will be waiting to go shopping with you at the local market (on Thursdays) or to a supermarket. You will then visit Mamma Lucia’s house and learn the secrets of Apulian recipes. Finally you will have lunch all together before returning to the initial point.
