If you choose to go by foot, you can walk along the old seaside promenade and perhaps stop at some of the small shops. When you return to the ship, the captain heads for Aegina which is the largest of the 3 islands on the tour. Apart from its beautiful harbor, there are numerous interesting sites that you’ll have a chance to discover on your own. Alternatively, you can join an excursion to the Temple of Aphaia at an additional cost. Return to your cruise-boat and enjoy your one-hour sail back to the port. Depart on the cruise from the old port of Athens in Faliro and go to Hydra where you have some free time to explore the cobblestone alleys and see the unique architecture, and the donkeys that still provide public transportation, and go swimming if you like. Take an optional walking tour of the town to see historic landmarks and traditional houses (at an extra fee). Later the cruise continues to Poros island, full of green pine forests and scented lemon groves, where you have more time to walk in the town and shop or eat at a local taverna. Continue to Aegina island, known for its pistachio groves and beautiful beaches. Take an optional bus tour of the Temple of Aphaia and the Monastery of Agios Nektarios in Aegina (at an extra fee). During the cruise, enjoy a full meal from a buffet full of various Greek and Mediterranean delicacies. On the way back to Athens, enjoy extra drinks from the bar and enjoy entertainment and dancing presented live by a group of Greek artists and dancers. End the cruise in the evening. When in Athens, visit one of the world-famous Greek islands for a day or two. Simply book your ferry boat ticket for Aegina which you'll receive in your email. With your e-ticket, go to the harbor of Piraeus, a 30 min metro ride from downtown Athens and board one of the boats. Choose one of the main departure times and a 1-way or 2-way boat transfer ticket. Aegina was the first capital of the modern Greek country in the 19th century and its main town is considered a cosmopolitan in the summer and charming in the winter. On the island, you'll find both organized and untouched human beaches, as well as majestic mansions, ancient Greek temples, arts, culture, and nightlife. There are wonderful mountain hikes for nature lovers and scenic villages with local-made delicacies and traditions. Give Aegina a couple of days more than you originally planned. It will happily surprise you and make you want to return, time and again.

It was also here that the priestess Pythia would foretell the future from the famous Oracle of Delphi. Visit the theater that seated 5,000 spectators and hosted plays, poetry readings, and festivals. At the nearby stadium, the Pythian Games were held every 4 years. Athletes from all over the Greek world would come to compete, and these games would become the predecessor to the modern Olympics. At the end of the day, drive to Kalambaka, a lovely city with beautiful gardens and magnificent views of the Meteora rocks. Overnight in Kalambaka. Day 2 In the morning, head to Meteora for a tour of the fascinating cliff-top monasteries. Be amazed by the cliffs, which average a height of 1,000 feet, and were first inhabited in the 9th century by a group of hermit monks who lived on the rock towers Today 6 monasteries remain out of the original 20. Views of the entire valley from the magnificent rock towers, and the peace of the surroundings, make this a unique place to visit. On the way back to Athens you’ll make a short stop at the monument to Leonidas, the King of Sparta who died in 480 B.C. at the famous Battle of Thermopylae.
