Admire the beautiful scenery of the region, including the Entoto Mountains, Lake Abaya, Lake Chamo, Mago National Park, Omo River, Lake Langano, and Abijatta-Shalla National Park.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1
Your tour starts in Addis Ababa. Visit the Entoto Mountains and enjoy the views over the capital. Visit the National Museum, the Institute of Ethiopian Studies, and St. George’s Cathedral.

Day 2
Drive south to visit the Guraghe people. Visit their village and admire the wonderful views of the surrounding area. Experience the culture and way of life of the village, one of the hardworking societies in Ethiopia.

Day 3
Admire the green scenery and stop to see the people of Wolayta on your way to Arba Minch, where you will arrive in the afternoon. Relax and enjoy the spectacular sunset and stunning views of Lake Abaya and Lake Chamo.

Day 4
Drive to Chencha in the morning to experience the unique culture, houses, and traditions of the Dorze people. Return to your hotel for lunch and enjoy a boat trip in the afternoon on Lake Chamo, where you can spot crocodiles and hippos.

Day 5
Encounter the Konso, Derase, Tsemay, Ari, and Benna people on your drive to Jinka, where you will arrive in the late afternoon. Check-in to your hotel and explore the town.

Day 6
Enter Mago National Park and admire the different mammals and birds along the way. Drive up to the mountains and visit the Mursi people and villages – the land of the lip-plates. Drive back to Jinka and visit the museum there.

Day 7
Drive to Turmi and encounter the colorful Hamer and Karo people along the way. Check-in at the lodge before visiting the Hamer people. Hopefully you will get to see the Evangadi, one of their dances.

Day 8
Take a drive to visit the Karo people and see the fascinating decoration and scarification covering their entire bodies. Enjoy the views over the Omo River from Kortcho village before driving back to Turmi for lunch. Continue on the tour with a visit to the Hamar people in their village, where you can hopefully see their dance or bull jumping ceremony, one of the most interesting ceremonies in Ethiopia.

Day 9
Enjoy a morning excursion to the villages of Omorate by the banks of the Omo River, home to the Daasanach people. Return to Turmi and rest at the lodge or walk around the town to meet more Hamar people.

Day 10
Drive back to Konso and encounter the Erbore and Tehmay people along the way. Make a stop to visit the Konso people, who are famous for the terracing agriculture and the fascinating way of life in the villages.

Day 11
Drive to Yabello and visit the Borena people. Drive down to see the singing wells near the village and the El Sod crater, where salt is extracted by hand.

Day 12
Depart early to enjoy the spectacular views and to visit the Guji people. Drive to Awassa Rift Valley Lake for lunch and relaxation. Continue on to the Wenney Eco-lodge, secluded in a natural paradise by Lake Langano and Munessa Forest.

Day 13
Relax by Lake Langano in the morning or enjoy an optional activity of trekking, bird-watching, horse-riding, boat excursion, or cycling. In the afternoon you will drive to Abijatta-Shalla National Park and enjoy the scenery, hot springs, birds, pelicans, and wildlife.

Day 14
Drive back to Addis Ababa. Visit the Merkato in the afternoon, the largest open-air market in Africa. Enjoy a traditional evening dinner with folkloristic dances before departing to your respective country.
