After departing from Addis Ababa, you will set out across the countryside on a journey that takes you through the various tribes living in southern Ethiopia. Learn the special ways of each of the peoples that set them apart from the other tribes. Enjoy unique and interesting foods, explore the natural landscapes, see the vast wildlife, and more. You might even be able to participate in traditional ceremonies of the people.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1

Begin your tour at a starting point in Addis Ababa. Visit the Entoto Mountains with views over the capital, stop at the National museum, and visit the St. George church. Spend the night in a hotel.

Day 2
Drive to Arbaminch and admire the green views along the way. Learn about the Guraghe people as you pass their villages, and stop to see where the Wolayta people live. After reaching your destination in the late afternoon, relax with a spectacular sunset over Chamo and Abaya lakes, before spending the night in your hotel.

Day 3
Head to Jinka, admiring the Derase, Konso, Tsemay, and Ari people. Make a stop to visit Konso people, who are famous for their indigenous terracing agriculture, traditional settlement, and way of life. Spend the night in a hotel in Jinka.

Day 4
Make your way Mago National park, admiring different mammals and birds on the way. Proceed to visit the Mursi people and villages, the land of the lip-plates. Head back to Jinka in the afternoon and visit the local museum or enjoy a walk around town. Spend the night at your hotel.

Day 5
Drive to Turmi, admiring the colorful KeyAfer village market of the Tsemay and Erbore people. Continue on for a visit with the Hamar people. Spend the night in a lodge in Turmi.

Day 6
Visit the Karo people to see their fascinating decoration and scarification adorning their bodies. Enjoy views over Omo River from the village of Kortcho. Return in the afternoon to visit the Hamar people in their villages. If a marriage or bull-leaping ceremony is taking place, you will have the opportunity to participate. Return to the lodge in Turmi for the night.

Day 7
Head to Arbaminch, admiring the Hamer, Karo, Erbore, Tehsmay Konso, Derashe, and Gamo people you encounter or pass on the way. Arrive at Arbaminch in the late afternoon, and stay for the night.

Day 8
Take a morning drive to Chencha to visit the Dorze people with their unique culture, houses, and traditions- Return to Arbaminch for lunch. Relax on an afternoon boat on Chamo Lake, where you can see crocodiles and hippos. Return to your hotel for the night.

Day 9
Drive through Sodo, and visit Wolayat and Omotic people. Head to the Rift Valley lakes of Shala and Abyata to see birds and visit the hot springs. Relax with a very nice sunset at the Wenney eco-lodge, a refuge secluded in a natural paradise at shore of Lake Langano and near to Munessa forest. You will have the possibility of trekking, bird-watching, horse-riding, and more before turning in for the night.

Day 10
Head out in the morning back to Addis Ababa. Enjoy lunch on the way. Enjoy an evening farewell traditional dinner with folkloristic dances before saying goodbye.
