Didn’t realise I had to get my tickets printed off when I got there but once sorted it was worth the view. Go all the way down to the end of the boardwalk - the view is stunning. Don’t bother if bad weather - you won’t see anything if low cloud. We had clear blue skies so it was lovely

Caught the Loam number one bus, last stop gondola. Park and ride. Starbucks available at base of gondola. Pre book your ticket and have up and down times. Gondola ride experience - ticket staff helpful, ride staff good at the bottom and the top. Groupings of 4 preferred but as I was alone, I had a whole cabin to myself. Upwards was a smooth ride. Top - go to 4th floor and work downwards. Fantastic views. Drinks, available, seating outside but no shade. 2nd floor Interpretation Centre great for kids too. Movie of Rockies every 15 minutes. Plenty of snow capped mountains. Well done. Watched twice. Outside has seating and more views. Souvenirs available. 2 hours went too fast but keep an eye on time for next journey. Down ride was a little scary at the start if you look down. Superimposed photos available at the bottom. Starting at $20+ Loam buses are regular for getting back to Banff. Pathway to top of next mountain should be attempted.

Loved this experience in Banff. It's the middle of summer so it's busy even during the week. We opted to take the shuttle before coming into town which was the right call because the parking lot at the gondola was full. Everything moved smoothly though and the staff got us on the gondola very efficiently. The view from the gondola and on the decks at the top is spectacular. Good idea to bring a sweater as the weather at the top felt more like fall. Took the walk to the weather station for even more views. Didn't get a chance to try the restaurants as they were full but I loved everything else.
