Acapulco has long been one of Mexico's most loved beach resorts. From deep-sea fishing to snorkeling and sightseeing, Acapulco offers visitors a taste of many wonders.

Swimming with dolphins is a dream for many people, but in Acapulco it can become a reality. An unforgettable experience with some of the most intelligent creatures in the sea, this is sure to be a highlight of your trip.

Sightseeing in the historical city of Acapulco is a must for any visitor. The Chapel of Peace, as the symbol of the city, is a not-to-be-missed sight. It features a huge cross, visible throughout the area, and is known as a place where many religions come and worship. Another important sight is the Fort of San Diego, home to the Historical Museum of Acapulco.

After seeing these and other lovely spots in the city, consider heading out on another kind of adventure. If you enjoy fishing, the waters around the city are rich with sailfish, marlin and many other varieties. Also available are sunset and daytime cruises, as well as trips such as watching the famous Acapulco Cliff divers or eating a surf and turf lunch at the well-known Coyuca Lagoon. See as much as you can in the crystal clear waters surrounding Acapulco.

Wrap up your voyage to the port city with a shopping trip to a traditional Mexican market, to pick up a few mementos of your vacation. The flavors of Mexico shine through during a trip to beautiful, sunny Acapulco.

What People Are Saying About Acapulco

Acapulco Municipal Market & Palma Sola Archaeological Zone

Roger and Alex our guides picked me up very punctually, they were very knowledgeable and fun to be with, they make my visit not only an interesting one but fun as well. We were the only visitors so we had an uninterrupted time exploring the site. It is steep, hot and muggy but worth the trek to see the rock drawings from nearly 3000 years ago. A wonderful way to spend an hour or two and take you away from the hustle and bustle of busy Acapulco. We after head visiting the Municipal Market, this is different than the so called flea market, the goods are fruit, spices, home baked goods, some crafts, and pottery. After visiting it, I think we saw the real people of Acapulco this is a great place to buy fresh foods and other lovely items. I recommend this tour if yo u want to get out of the beaten path and if you want to learn about Mexico.

San Diego Fort Municipal Market Visit and Cliff Divers Historical Tour

The Mercado Municipal was really an eye-opener, I had never been in a Mexican market before, and it was fascinating. There was so much to see— fresh produce and live roosters, gorgeous flowers. The one I enjoyed the best though was the witch doctor office with a lot of hard to describe products, which were a combination of herbal remedies and Santeria-type spells and prayers to saints. One of these stalls had a cage full of large live bugs, whose purpose I preferred not to ask about. The museum. One of my favorite places for absorbing Mexican history 'live and in person'. Among many other historic currents, it beautifully presents the history of the Nao de China or Manila Galleon, the ship that made a yearly trip between Acapulco and Manila, starting very early during the viceregal period. This site is SO worth a visit; I have honestly never seen anyone get bored here. Rogelio (Roger Dodger) was extremely courteous, knowledgeable and fun. I highly recommend this tour.

Barra de Coyuca Lagoon Tour with Baby Turtle Release

We travelled by van to the lagoon where we got on a motor boat. Arturo and Roger our guides were a wealth of information, fun and knowledgeable. We had an hour and a half cruise around the lagoon. Birds are plentiful, I took a bunch of pics. It is a lovely site. We made one stop on a small island where there was an outdoor restaurant. All-day trip including a delicious lunch, drinks and a Coco-Loco. I particularly enjoyed after being thoroughly explained about being able to release baby turtles into the ocean. I am coming back next year.
