What to Expect
A true symbol of the birthplace of Abu Dhabi, Qasr Al Hosn is considered as one of the emirate's most significant landmarks. The festival, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and organised by Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, TCA Abu Dhabi, takes place annually to celebrate the Qasr Al Hosn Fort, the UAE's identity, and to keep the emirate's heritage and values alive and handed down to new generations.

This exhibition tells the story of Abu Dhabi and the Emirati people. The origins of Abu Dhabi began a little over 250 years ago. Since then, the island capital has witnessed dramatic changes; the small fishing community grew into a town and then a high-rise modern city. Today Abu Dhabi is the very definition of a global city.

Visitors can learn that inextricably linked to this story is Qasr al Hosn from local Emirati – the first permanent building on the island, the Ruler’s Palace, a witness to the island’s origins and evolution, and a powerful symbol of the ever-developing city.
