Full description
Your full-day tour begins in Cusco city, where you will be picked up between 4:15 AM and 4:45 AM. You will then drive in a comfortable van for 3 hours to the town of Cusipata, where you will have breakfast in a local family house. Following breakfast, you will head to the starting point of your hike. There are approximately 3 kilometers of flat land uphill, leading to the majestic "Mountain of Colors". The hike will take about 1.5 hours, depending on your level of fitness. Throughout your hike, enjoy panoramic views of the valleys, wild llamas, alpacas, and vicuñas, as well as of the Andes and the nearby glaciers.  Once here, if weather is good, you will be able to receive your first views of Rainbow Mountain. At the top, you will take a well-deserved break, which will also be your chance to catch your breath and enjoy the breathtaking views. Trip was very smooth. The driver picked us up from our hotel and got us there and back safely. The guide was helpful, friendly, and informative. The food was better than I expected. As others have stated, make sure you acclimate to the high altitude for at least a day as the high altitude makes this hike more challenging.

The tour was great. Sonya and the driver (unfortunately I don't remember his name) were very friendly and fluent in English as well. The tour started early in the morning with picking the group members up, provided breakfast and lunch, sticker poles and coca leaves. One thing that I would be careful is that you SHOULD NOT do the rainbow mountain hike if you have been in Cusco fewer than a couple of days. This hikes elevation is significantly higher than even Cusco and high altitude sickness is a real problem. I did this tour on my second day in Cusco and I suffered a lot from high altitude sickness and feeling terrible at night. But the trail was gorgeous and the rainbow mountain was definitely pictureous.

This trip was amazing! The guide was very knowledgeable about the places we visited and what we were doing. Definitely would do it again, the only thing I recommend is to check the weather. We were not able to see the rainbow mountain because it was snowing when we were there and we were not prepared for that
