Full description

Head straight to the fast track entrance for security checks and enter the Colosseum at your allotted time. Follow in the footsteps of emperors and gladiators, reliving the legends of ancient Rome.

Construction of the Colosseum began in 72 A.D. under the order of Emperor Vespasian and was completed by his sons Titus and Domitian in 80 A.D., becoming the largest amphitheater ever built.

Imagine the atmosphere as you walk around the four-tiered gladiatorial combat arena that once held around 50,000 spectators eagerly awaiting the ferocious fight between man and beast.

Visit the sites of the neighboring Palatine Hill and Roman Forum at your own pace. Your ticket for this complex – valid for 24 hours after Colosseum entry – includes access to this cluster of monuments that mark the founding of Rome.

Observe the layers of history from prehistoric settlements to the rise of the "Eternal City" on Palatine – one of the Seven Hills of Rome and historical markers of the city.

Your final vantage point is from the hilltop – to a panorama of impressive columns, archways, and temples below. The Imperial Forum was once the center of all political, social, and economic life in the Roman Republic.

This tour was good for us, but I would have gotten the audio guide if I didn’t have my daughter with us. She had been there and could fill in a lot of info for us. The guided tour would have been too much for us in the heat. Great way to see one of the wonders of the world.

Amazing structure - quick entry and there are water fountains inside so you can refill your bottle. I’m just not a history buff so I could of done with going on a tour but if you just want to wander or have a look around this is a nice cheap way to do it.

It was good, I got in fairly quickly with this ticket. However, I think the line to buy tickets at the colosseum was only a little bit longer than the line for people who’s leeway’s had tickets, maybe like a 15-20 minute wait. In my opinion, it would’ve been better to wait and get the all inclusive ticket for the same price or save the money by purchasing the same ticket there instead of online. I think it’s €17 to buy a colosseum ticket in person, or it’s €22 for an all inclusive ticket which gets you into other buildings around palatine hill, such as the house of Augustus. This ticket was €22 (or something like that) but didn’t include the other things.
