I recently participated in the "Beijing: Forbidden City Walking Tour," and it was an extraordinary experience that I would recommend to anyone visiting Beijing. Our guide, Mike, elevated this tour from great to exceptional. He was very, very impressive! From the moment we met him, his warmth and kindness were immediately apparent. He ensured everyone in our group felt welcome and engaged. Mike’s deep knowledge of the Forbidden City’s history and architecture brought the ancient walls to life. Mike also took us to some lesser-known areas of the palace that are often overlooked by larger tour groups. A heartwarming moment was when Mike spoke proudly of his son, who is becoming a master of calligraphy. You could see the pride in his eyes as he talked about his son’s dedication, highlighting the cultural values of family pride and tradition in China. This personal touch enriched our experience, providing a deeper appreciation for the living culture of the Chinese people today.

We had an amazing day with our guide, Edward, and our driver, Mr. Tian. They picked us up from our hotel and drove straight to Jingshaling. On the way, Edward gave us the history of the Wall, and its role in Chinese history. Once we arrived after about a 2 hour drive, it was clear this was the section of the Wall to visit — we saw no more than 10 other people during the 3 hours we spent hiking. Edward gave us more information while also being very accommodating about how far we wanted to go. We decided to take the cable car (60 RMB round trip) up to have more time to explore the Wall itself. The views are breathtaking every way you turn. The hike itself is a lot of up and down stairs to the various towers/gates, but absolutely worth it! We then had a fabulous lunch at a local family restaurant—the best Kung Pao we had in China—and a relaxing drive back to Beijing (with a Chinese lesson to boot!). Thank you Edward and Mr. Tian for a fabulous day!

We had an amazing tour with our driver Xia Qing Gang, he was really friendly and very helpful and provided us with snacks and drinks for our tour. The service was incredible, Xia helped us to book our tickets and took some wonderful photos of us at the Great Wall. I would highly recommend this tour!

I had a very good trip with Zhao Jinfu. I will definitely come again if I found myself back in Beijing. Thank you.
